The Martin Luther King, Jr. State Holiday Commission, in collaboration with Beta Beta Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is pleased to announce the winners of the 38th Annual Poster Competition.
Each year students throughout the state of West Virginia have shared their artistic abilities by submitting their entries as a way of celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year the mission of the Martin Luther King, Jr. West Virginia Holiday Commission is to celebrate the occasion of the 38th Annual Poster Competition as a means to depict the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The poster must focus on this famous quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Lincoln County High School students Erica Watkins won 1st and Robin Browning won 2nd in the 9-12th Grade Poster Category. The winning posters will be on display in the Great Hall of the WV Culture Center during the months of January – February 2022.
