Students from the 12th grade Civics classes worked together to complete a service project to collect personal hygiene items for the West Virginia Veteran’s Home located in Barboursville WV. This project was a requirement of the WV state standards and ran from September through October 22nd. The Civics classes partnered with Hamlin Pk-8 National Junior Honor Society, GFWV (Women’s Club) of Hamlin, Beta Eta Sorority and many wonderful individuals in our community to collect two large loads of goods that were delivered to the Veteran’s home.
The project was a success and a welcomed sight for the veteran’s who were honored with the efforts of our community and our students. Our students were happy to do something for those men and women who have served in the armed forces and learned the importance of being an active citizen and giving back. LCHS and Lincoln County Schools are proud to honor those who have sacrificed so much for OUR freedom.
