Electronics Technology
Lincoln County High is back at it again. They are exploring new academic fields to better familiarize students, hoping  to give them better opportunities in the job force. Students are working on robotics in the computer / electronics classroom. The goal is for the student to learn, develop, and construct different robots that have specific and sophisticated purposes. In order for students to complete this pathway they must complete these four courses: DC Circuit Concepts, AC Circuit Concepts, Analog Circuits and Systems, and Digital and Computer Concepts.
VEX Robotics Competitions

This is all for the VEX and Skills USA competition students participate in, VEX competitions are throughout the school year while Skills USA is during March. The students will be participating in two competitions, one in Pittsburgh P.A. and one in Fairmont. If they qualify, they will also participate in the VEX World Championships in Anaheim California! Students start the year preparing for competitions. This year they received several grants from the State department, VEX robotics, and our local school to purchase a VEX robotic playing arena. It is specifically designed to show off the student’s designs through tasks that have to complete and a point system they have to manage themselves in, all in a very short amount of specific elated time.

VEX in their own words, from their website, “The VEX Robotics Design System offers students an exciting platform for learning about areas rich with career opportunities spanning science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). These are just a few of the many fields students can explore by creating with VEX Robotics technology. Beyond science and engineering principles, a VEX Robotics project encourages teamwork, leadership and problem solving among groups. It also allows educators to easily customize projects to meet the level of students’ abilities. The affordable VEX platform is expanding rapidly and is now found in middle schools, high schools and university labs around the globe. Robotics hobbyists also appreciate the advanced capabilities of the VEX System.”
